territory acknowledgement
I acknowledge that where I live and work is within the stolen territories of the Coast Salish Peoples, including the xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), and Səl̓ílwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) peoples. I never forget that I am an uninvited guest on these lands.
about
I change during the course of a day. I wake up and I'm one person, and when I go to sleep I know for certain I'm somebody else.
~ BOB DYLAN
Raised in northern British Columbia, I spent my formative years in Terrace mostly rebelling against mainstream norms and not quite fitting into any one particular group. My artistic outlet growing up was non traditional experiments in hair and fashion. (I cannot tell you how many colours my hair colour was in high school!) I grew up fishing on the Skeena River so my affinity to water has been truly a lifelong passion. I am my happiest when I am 50' below the ocean surface where I recharge my creative energy and find my soul!

the artist
I am art, therefore I am.
From a very young age I have always been creative, it was never was a choice it was just who I was and am still today.
Perennially inspired by the magical world of the beautiful creatures below the waters surface. I take joy in reinterpreting these connections, reinventing and experimenting. I enjoy upsetting the traditional expectations with experiments in beauty both natural and fantastical.
I am interested in reaching beyond the confines of society. I do not feel constrained in my artistic vision to be mainstream. By breaking these boundaries I am more willing to be experimental. My artistic practice developed through exploration of a variety of different media resulting in experimental pieces in a variety of different forms. It is through this growth that I have found my own artistic vision and more importantly my voice!
When i work I often spend hours, days or weeks 'percolating' through my concept to finally sit down and get to work creating my vision. More often than not I am experimenting in new creative processes....I never make anything the same twice! I have lost many hours of sleep visualizing the final piece in my mind before I put pencil to paper.
